Lamu Port 1 article

Lamu Port is a Kenyan Indian Ocean port, defined by LAPSSET port component, deep-water port Kenya, and East African trade gateway. Its infrastructure role centres on East African trade gateway, northern Kenya logistics, regional freight connectivity, and port terminal development, linking production areas, inland markets or ports through a named transport system rather than through a general sector concept. The entity is the corridor or project itself, distinct from the governments, financiers, contractors and operators associated with it; its significance lies in connectivity, freight movement and the economic geography created by the route.
