Within Society, the main subject is broad patterns of social change and the institutions that shape everyday life. The editorial lens extends to household welfare, communities, public services, inequality, social mobility, demographic change, cohesion and human development. Compared with specialist social categories, the emphasis instead falls on providing the wider social context rather than isolating one system such as health, education or migration.
